Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MealAI (“the Service”), operated at usemealai.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

MealAI is an AI-powered meal planning platform that generates personalized weekly meal plans, grocery lists, nutrition tracking, and budget management tools. The Service is available via web browser and may include integrations with third-party services such as Instacart and Walmart for grocery ordering.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscription & Billing

  • MealAI offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription at $4.99 CAD per month.
  • Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. All prices are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.
  • New Pro subscribers receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged until the trial period ends.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@usemealai.com.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or extract data from the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, AI-generated meal plans, recipes, and software — are owned by MealAI or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may use AI-generated meal plans and recipes for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our Service content without prior written permission.

7. Health & Nutritional Disclaimer

MealAI provides AI-generated meal suggestions and nutritional information for informational purposes only. The Service does not constitute medical or nutritional advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have medical conditions, allergies, or specific nutritional requirements. We are not responsible for any adverse health effects resulting from following meal plans generated by the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealAI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall survive.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the revised Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
